I’m obsessed with this site. I spend almost as much time on it as I do on wikipedia.

What do dogs really think they’re doing when they “play fetch”? Do they know it’s a game? Or do they think the ball is some living thing that needs to be kept in containment, and you keep asking for it so they give it to you, but whenever you get it you accidentally let it get away, so they have to chase it down again.
“Okay, I’ll let you hold it one more time, but I mean it this time, don’t let it g–shit.”
That’s my theory.
Okay, so, to make up for missing my post yesterday, I’m posting twice today.
So, I went to the barn for the first time in a while. I think I haven’t gone since my trip to Vail, which was amazing(more on it later)–
sidenote: Vail Ski Patrol got their first Avalanche Dog this season, his name is Henry and he’s a two-year-old Golden Retriever. We didn’t stop by the patrol headquarters to see him, though we did mean to. Skiing tends to get a lot of other stuff off your mind.
–and again, I find myself out of shape. Even so, I got Poetry to collect (for all of 2 seconds) in the canter, which was ridiculously exciting for me. She collects very well; it’s me that has the problem (isn’t it always). Also, I accidentally left everyone’s Christmas presents at home again. Such a shock.
This will probably be the longest post I do for a while. Maybe.
Check out the barn I ride at, or, take a look at Vail Mountain and what it has to offer here.
1. I tend to write in a broken fashion. A lot. And I like to employ sentence fragments. Then again, lots of people do nowadays. Don’t they? Anyway. If it bugs anyone, tell me and I’ll write more proper-like.
2. I’m going to try and post every day. I probably won’t have too much trouble with this, but you never know. It’s going to be like a thing for me, a goal, a late new years resolution if you will.
3. I tend to beat particular words and phrases to death. What’s that phrase? Something about beating a dead something? Moose? I don’t know.
Sounds awesome, right?
